006. Tennis NSW Honours Todd Woodbridge

At the recent Medibank NSW Open Tennis Championships held at the Tennis Centre at Olympic Park Todd Woodbridge was surprised and thrilled to receive life membership of Tennis NSW.  At the dinner, on Saturday 12 January, Todd was taken back when the award was announced.

Todd played tennis for Sydney East Region and attended Woolooware High School before becoming the tennis player the whole world has watched as part of the famous doubles combination known as “The Woodies”.  Along with his partner Mark Woodforde they won 61 ATP doubles titles including 11 grand slam events. Todd and Mark represented Australia in the Olympics in 1996 and 2000 where they won gold and silver medals respectively.

Congratulations go to Todd for the acknowledgement of his sportsmanship and his contribution to the game of tennis.  Todd’s achievements are inspirational.
