013. Promising Cyclist Is Living the Dream

15 February

Kaarle McCulloch who we tracked at the beginning of December 2007 stood up to be counted in a most remarkable fashion at the recent Australian Track Championships held at the Dunc Gray Velodrome from 4 to 10 February.

Kaarle McCullock who was a student at Endeavour Sports High School two years ago rode some of the races of her short career at these Championships.  Kaarle won three Open events.  Kaarle is now a triple Australian Champion. To further illustrate the enormity of this achievement is the point that Kaarle only started her cycling career in 2005.

The results speak for themselves.

Womens 500m Time Trial Final

1. Kaarle McCulloch       34.939

Womens Sprint Final

1. Kaarle McCulloch       12.403    12.628

This is the best of three sprints.

Womens Keirin Final

Womens Team Sprint Final

2. Kaarle McCulloch

    Cassandra Kell          35.098

Kaarle as a member of the Aussie Toshiba Cyclones now heads to camp in Adelaide, then to Bordeaux to another training camp with the Australia contingency before the crossing to England for the World Championships in Manchester at the end of March.

In the 500m Time Trial, the Sprint and the Keirin Finals Kaarle out rode Kerrie Meares sister of Anna.  The sisters between them have won gold medals at Commonwealth and Olympic Games.

Congratulations Kaarle McCulloch we wish you every success in the upcoming events.
