Ewan Porter who attended Endeavour Sports HS and was a recipient of a NSWCHS Blue for Golf in 1999 has made a huge leap in his career by winning the Moonah Classic a few weeks ago in Melbourne.

Earlier in the year Ewan qualified for one of a handful of places available to play in the British Open.

By winning the Moonah Classic a Co-Sanctioned Event in the Nation Wide Tour, 2nd Tier Level,  Ewan has gained an exemption for two years in all events.  Ewan will be automatically included in all draws without having to play qualifiers. This Tour is second only to the PGA Tour of America.

If Ewan finishes in the top twenty five in this Tour at the end of the year he will get into the PGA Tour next calendar year.  On last year’s prize money deal Ewan would only need to earn another $70,000 to $80,000 approximately.  Ewan in winning the Moonah Classic took home a purse of $153,000.  In 2007 the person who came in twenty fifth on the tour earned approximately $220,000.
