036. NSWCHS Swimmers on the Team for Beijing |

Congratulations to former NSWCHS swimmers on their selection in the Olympic Team to compete at Beijing in August. Adam Pine (Lismore HS) Adam is the first swimmer to represent Australia at four consecutive Commonwealth Games (1994, 1998, 2002 and 2006) Adam represented NSWPSSA in 1987 as an 11 year old and interestingly Sasha Van Hamburg was also a member of this team - Sasha and Adam are currently happily married with two children. Adam represented NSWCHS throughout his secondary schooling and took up an AIS scholarship in his final year of school. Adam represented NSW at two Pacific School Games 1988 and 1992. Kirk Palmer (Henry Kendall HS) Kirk was a recipient of a NSWCHS Blue for Swimming in 2003. Kirk Palmer has won gold, silver and bronze medals at the 2006 Oceania Championships. Kirk is 20 years old. Craig Stevens (Endeavour Sports HS) Craig gave up his individual swim in the 400m at the Athens Olympics in 2004. This has now become one of the famous incidents in the history of Australian Swimming. Craig Stevens was a finalist in the 1500m and was a relay silver medallist as a heat swimmer at Athens. Craig also won a relay gold medal at the FINA World Championships in 2003. Craig Stevens was awarded a CHS Blue in 1998. Kendrick Monk (Wyndham College / Quakers Hill HS / Marayong PS) Kendrick is a freestyle swimmer. Kendrick won gold, silver and bronze in the 2006 Oceania Championships. Kendrick is 19 years old. Kendrick left school in year 11 to pursue his swimming career. Kendrick was a Sydney West Region Blues award winner in 2003. Lara Davenport (Galston High) Lara will compete in the freestyle relays in Beijing and is 24 years old.
