038. Kings Cup Victory to NSWCHS Oarsman |
11 April |
|
Tom Laurich a former student of Barrenjoey High School and a recipient of a NSWCHS Blue for Rowing in 1998 was a member of the NSW winning eight at the recent Australian Rowing Championships. Historically the most talked about and most celebrated event at every Australian Championship is the Kings Cup, the last race of the carnival. The number one heavy weight eights race for the honour of this cup. In one of the closest races in recent years NSW pipped Victoria in a photo finish by 0.21 of a second. Tom Laurich who competed in the coxless four in the Athens Olympics looks set to compete in Beijing in August. Congratulations Tom Laurich and very best wishes for the future in your rowing career.
