A great day was had by all again in cold and windy conditions with a consistent two foot swell all day.  The event was held at Maroubra Beach this year on Friday June 20. The outstanding competitors for the day were Dan Macnaughton from South Sydney High School and young Connor Oleary from Cronulla High School.  Both boys won individual titles and were part of their respective winning teams. Connor Oleary was the outstanding competitor of the carnival and is identified as having a big future ahead in surfing.  Connor scored the highest points for both juniors and seniors.

Once again Dave Haggart (South Sydney HS) did a sterling job in running and organising these Championships.   Dave was ably assisted by Geoff Hart (South Sydney HS) on the day. 

Sydney East Region would also like to thank NSW Surfing for providing world class judges and shelter for the surfers on the day.
