The NSWCHS Netball Championships were held at the Menai Indoor Sports Centre from Tuesday 16 June to Thursday 18 June 2009. All regions were represented and looked competitive.

Day one started and the games began, with many close calls but a lot of points scored by each team. A full round robin was conducted over the three days and the final match between Sydney North and Sydney West proved to be the decider of who would be crowned champions. It was a very close fought championship with any of the top four teams having a chance of winning.  A full set of results can be found at this link.

Amy Sommerville from Westfield’s Sport High and Paige Hadley from St Mary’s Senior High School have recently been invited to attend the Australian under 17’s Netball Squad Training Program after competing at the Australian Netball Championships last April.

The NSWCHS Opens will be competing in the All Schools Challenge in September, against Combined Catholic Colleges and The Combined Independent Schools teams at The Northern Beaches Indoor Sport Centre.

This challenge started in 1994 and CHS have won the championships 12 from 15 times.
