NSWCHS Golf Championships

The NSWCHS Stroke Play Championships were played on May 4 and 5 at the NSW Golf Club and The Coast Golf Club.

Girls Individual Stroke Play Championships

1. Amanda Chin (Hurlstone Agricultural HS)
2. Molly McAleer (Northern Beaches Sec College Freshwater Campus)
3. Esther Yoon (The Hills Sports HS)

Girls Nett:
Winner         Amelia Stannard (Vincentia HS)
Runner Up    Jessica Martin (The Hills Sports HS)


Boys Individual Stroke Play Championships

1. Thomas Bicinic (Westfields Sports HS)
2. Matt Egan (Dubbo College Senior Campus)
3. Andrew Best (Mudgee HS)

Boys Nett:

Winner Clayton Bridges (Belmont HS)

The Match Play Championships were played at St Michaels and NSW Golf Clubs on May 6 and 7.

In the All Schools Match Play Monica Jung (S.E.) was the runner-up to Chantal Hodson (CIS)

Monica Jung (Strathfield South HS) 16yrs is in year 11 and has been playing golf for four years.  Monica plays A grade pennants for the Bonny Doon Club and is on a handicap of 2.

Monica's achievements include:

2008:  Winner Champion of Champions Mount Broughton
NSW Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation State 15yrs Age Champion.
Selected number 2 in NSW Junior Girls State Team

2009:  Winner Peter O’Malley Junior Masters Bathurst

In the Boys Match Play Mat Egan (Western) was the runner-up to James Thomas (CCC). 

Matt Egan (Dubbo College Senior Campus) has also been playing golf for four and a half years.  Matt started to play golf after a serious Rugby League football accident.  He broke his collar bone badly and started playing golf with his mates. Matt is now playing off scratch.

Matt's achievements include:

2007:  Winner Cobar Open, Narromine Open, Gilgandra Open, Burke Open, Warren Open

2008:  Winner Sand Greens NSW Junior Mens and Open Mens Champion

2009:  Macquarie Cup winner in Dubbo

Matt is moving to Sydney at the end of 2009 with aspirations to join the pro Circuit and play in the Amateur Vardon events with his aim to qualify to play in the Australian Open.
