Twenty two teams entered the SE Table Tennis KO event.  The day was held at the Sydney Indoor Sports Centre on Friday 15 May. The draw was conducted as a Knock Out event with the winners of each match advancing to the next round until being defeated.  The teams as they were knocked out went into a round robin event which was thoroughly enjoyed by all competitors.

The standard of the table tennis was very high with some stand out-players.  The competition is such that each school can only enter one team which can consist of all boys, all girls or a combination of boys and girls.

The final was contested by two boys’ teams.  Blakehurst HS defeated Sydney Tech HS 4/2.

In the quarter finals Randwick Girls HS were narrowly beaten by an all boys team 4/3.

Sandy Masen (Randwick Girls HS) 13 yrs is a huge talent.  Sandy commenced playing Table Tennis at the age of 6 years.

2008:
NSW U13, U15 State Singles Champion. NSW U18 3^rd State SinglesNSW U13, U15 State Doubles Champion. NSW U13, U15 Mixed Doubles Champion.

At the Nationals held in South Australia Sandy was a member of the U13 winning team.  Sandy also placed 3^rd in the U13 Singles, 3^rd in the U13 Mixed Doubles and 2^nd in the Girls Doubles.

2009:
In April Sandy played in the winning NSW U21Team at the Nationals event in Melbourne.  Sandy is at present ranked 7^th in U21 Girls in Australia. 

Sandy Masen will be representing Australia in the Oceania Championships in Singles and Doubles on the Gold Coast at the end of June.  Sandy is also entering and playing in the World Junior Circuit.

Sandy Masen is also a talented pianist in 7^th Grade level.
