Teams being billeted are to arrive no later than 2.30pm on Thursday 6 June 2013.
Entry: Zone Entries
Entry lists for each zone are to be submitted to the
North Coast School Sport Unit no later than
Wednesday, 24 May, 2013.
a. Zone teams shall consist of six (6) runners per age group per gender, of whom the first five (5) shall count towards the Zone point score.
b. School teams shall consist of a maximum of four (4) runners per age group per gender, of whom the first three (3) runners shall count towards the School point score.
c. There shall be a maximum of one (1) school team combined with a Zone team to total a maximum of ten (10) runners per age group per gender. Within this combination, the first five (5) runners shall count towards the Zone point score.
d. Teams which have combined zone and school teams per event with less than five (5) runners, will score last place plus one for each runner required to make up to five (5).
Students with Disability: Each Zone will be eligible to enter two (2) competitors per event, per gender to compete at the Regional Carnival. All SWD competitors must wear zone singlets, and will be identified on the day with alternative bands. Students with a disability (SWD's) will run in a combined event over the same distance for all ages. (ie: 12 years - 18+ years all run 3km.)
There will be no qualifying times for the North Coast Cross Country but Zone selectors should be aware Qualifying times for State will be: Boys - 5min/km or 15 minutes; Girls - 6mins/km or 18 minutes.
Each SWD must complete the classification documentation for their disability category and forward to the Regional Sports Officer prior to the Regional Carnival. NB: T20 students classification MUST be accompanied by a School Disability Confirmation Form.
SWD Events will be scheduled when entries are received.
Intellectually Disabled - ID (T20)
Hearing Impaired - HI (T01)
Physical Impairment - PI - This will be restricted to:
Cerebral Palsy -CP 7 and CP 8 (T37 or T38)
Amputee - (T45 or T46)
Visually Impaired - (T11,12,13)
Placings for SWD events will be determined using the multidisability formula ie: comparing the athletes time to the 5000m time for their classification to determine the percentage. Percentages for all disability classes will be calculated with the highest percentage winning, second highest placing second etc.
Eligible students must choose prior to competing whether they will compete as an SWD or as an able bodied athlete. If competing as an SWD they must complete the classification documentation.
Each Region will be eligible to enter 2 competitors per event, per gender to compete at the State Championships provided they meet qualifying times.
Footwear: Footwear must be worn by all competitors. Cross Country spikes may be worn.
Canteen Facilities: A canteen will be in operation at the venue.

North Coast Apparel Shop: Please inform students that North Coast Cross Country souvenir apparel items will be for sale at the venue.
Change Facilities: Competitors will be able to change after the races. There will be limited facilities available.
Course Details: The course may include water and mud depending on weather conditions. The course will be clearly marked and course officials strategically placed. Arm markings may be used to verify course completion. Course subject to change depending on the weather. A map of the course will be available on the day, and competitors will be given the opportunity to walk the course as per the program. The program is available on the website under North Coast/ Forms/Primary and Secondary Cross Country Program.
Finishing Procedures: High school competitors are to have their age group marked on their right arm. As competitors finish, you will be handed a place number, then directed to your age recording table. A Zone Manager needs to be at the recording table to assist with the competitors name, school and zone.
Availability: Competitors attending the North Coast Cross Country event MUST be available to attend the NSWCHS Cross Country Championships at Eastern Creek on Friday 19 July 2013.
NB: The North Coast program is subject to change to accommodate a combined CHS/PSSA Cross Country.
One (1) Zone Manager from each Zone will be required at the finish to help with competitor details to the recorders.
Team Selection if Cancellation of Championships: In the event of two rained out Championships in Cross Country, the North Coast Team will be selected on Zone submitted times or placings.
