COMPETITION RULES AND EXERCISES FOR GIRLS AND BOYS (WAG / MAG)
|
|
|
|
(a)
|
ENTRIES
Each Region may enter one team per competition. A team cannot exceed 24 Gymnasts with a maximum of 6 competitors in any one division for Divisions B, C, D and E, Divisions A is an open Divisions for numbers, (however only the best 10 scores to count towards the overall team result from Divisions A - E).

|
(i)
|
ALL competition(s) are OPEN events and will be held in five (5) Divisions.
|
|
|
|
|
(ii)
|
All CHS Artistic Gymnastics competitions will be held as a combined MAG/WAG Championships.
|
|
|
|
|
(iii)
|
The competitors division will be decided by the highest NSWGA level at which they have competed as of the first day of the CHS State Carnival.
Any competitor who does not work at GNSW levels will be placed into the appropriate division by the regional selector after the regional competitions.
|
|
|
|
|
(iv)
|
For an region to be eligible for the Divisional team competition there must be a minimum of three (3) competitors representing that Region. The best three (3) overall total scores count towards this competition.
|
|
|
|
|
(v)
|
Gymnasts who have not competed in the GNSW level system for 18 months prior to the CHS competition may compete in one division lower for the CHS Championships. Official documentation must be presented at the Regional Competition and a copy forwarded with the team list prior to the CHS Championships.
|
|
|
|
|
(vi)
|
ENTRIES
NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM INDIVIDUAL SCHOOLS. THEY MUST BE ENTERED AS A REGIONAL TEAM.
|
|
|
|
|
(vii)
|
Each Region is asked to supply one qualified judge in addition to team official(s).
|
|
|
|
|
(viii)
|
Each Region may nominate one Coach from outside the school system, but the Convener or CHS Competition Manager must be notified by the Team manager before the commencement of each session of the Championships.
|
|
|
|
(b)
|
|
DRESS
All gymnasts must compete in Regional uniform.
|
|
|
|
(c)
|
|
TEAMS
The combination each Region enters will vary depending on the abilities of their competitors.
|
|
|
|
(d)
|
|
EXERCISES

(i)
|
Order of competition will be decided by the floor manager on the day of competition
|
|
|
|
|
(ii)
|
Competitors are to perform one routine on each of the apparatus specific to that competition in accordance with the following:

APPARATUS
Floor Exercise
The floor space 12 x 12 metres shall be utilised completely.
Girls floor exercise must be accompanied by music. Music may be a single instrument or multiple (no vocal).
Each competitor in all divisions must have a cassette / CD with the music recorded at the beginning of the tape and her name printed clearly on the cassette / CD.

|
JUDGING
ALL judging will be in accordance with the current MAG and WAG FIG code of points.
|
|
|
|
(g)
|
PROTESTS
Prior to commencement of competition a Disputes Committee consisting of the Combined High Schools Convenor and two other members will be duly elected from the Regional Gymnastics Conveners and/or Manager at the first meeting.
|
|
|
|
|
(i)
|
All protests must be in writing and should be forwarded to the Combined High Schools Gymnastics Convenor and/or Carnival Manager, for immediate action in the following manner.
|
|
|
|
|
(ii)
|
(A)
|
Protest with regards to infringement of Combined High Schools Carnival rules will dealt with by the Disputes Committee.
|
|
|
(B)
|
Protests with regards to judging must be handed in to the Disputes Committee who will forward it to the head judge for immediate action. This must be done prior to any presentation.
|
|
|
|
|
(iii)
|
Protests must be signed by the team Manager and/or Regional Gymnastics Convener.
|
|
|
|
|
(iv)
|
The Disputes Committee's decision is final.
|
|
|
|
(h)
|
RESULTS
The overall Champion Region will be awarded in MAG /WAG and RG separately. The Champion Region for each discipline is determined by a point’s allocation to position system for each division.

All participants are to receive a Certificate of Participation.
All apparatus Champions are awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd medals.
Overall Individual Champions per Division are awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd medals.
The Champion Region per Division is determined by totalling the best three (3) individual scores per apparatus. Divisional Teams are awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd certificates.

RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS COMPETITION RULES AND EXERCISES
Competition Rules and Exercises for Girls (RG)

|
(a)
|
ENTRIES
|
|
|
|
Each Region may enter a maximum of sixteen (16) competitors with no more than 6 in a division.
|
|
|
|
|
(i)
|
Competitions will be held in five (5) divisions.
|
|
|
|
|
(ii)
|
The competitors division will be decided by the highest NSWGA level at which they have competed as of the first day of the CHS state carnival. Any competitor who does not work at NSWGA levels will be placed into the appropriate division by the Region Convener
|
|
|
|
|
(iii)
|
Gymnasts who have not competed in the NSWGA level system for 18 months prior to the CHS Competition may compete in one division lower for the CHS Championships. Official documentation must be presented at the Region Competition and a copy forwarded with the team list prior to the CHS Championships.
|
|
|
|
|
(iv)
|
NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM INDIVIDUAL SCHOOLS. THEY MUST BE REGIONAL BASED ENTRIES.
|

|
|
|
(v)
|
Each Region may nominate one coach from outside the school system, but the CHS Convener or Competition Manager must be notified by the team manager before the commencement of each session of the championships.

(b)
|

Leotards or unitards - Regional colours are optional. Gymnasts are allowed to wear optional colours to coordinate with apparatus
