School Sport Co ordinator Training

Training and Development in oganisation for PSSA at the school level, organisation for major carnivals, organisation for school sport and proformas/resources to complement programs.
To promote full participation in Zone competitions and raise confidence and expertise is school sport and the role of the school sport coordinator.

Rugby League Coaching Level 0 or Level 1
To encourage new teachers to take on the role of coaching, to promote the inclusion of more team in Zone competition and to provide expertise and resources for the safety and confidence of teacher who may never have taken on this role.

Implementation:
Initiative A: An afternoon training session open to two delegates per school.
Provide a presentation on 'Best Practices for Organising Carnivals, School Sport Programs and PSSA Teams.
Provide a CD Rom and resource package for all participants covering proformas for notes, Code of Conduct, bus travel, checklists for carnivals, timing/recording/result sheets and Zone information.
Examples of school sport programs and the provision of game rules will also be included in the package.

Initiative B: Utilising the ARL Development program run by Parramatta Eels.

Evaluation:
Initiative A will be evaluated through a survey/questionnaire of sport coordinators evaluating the success of the course and the effectiveness of the resources provided.

Initiative B will be evaluated through participation in 2006 to 2007, both at the school and Zone levels.
