5.5b.2
|
All players shall wear cricket attire. |

5.5b.3
|
The matches shall be played under the current Laws of Cricket and unless otherwise stated hereunder, experimental rules shall not apply. |
| |
(a) |
No fielder is allowed to field within ten (10) metres of the batswoman onstrike except those fielding within an area from point to the wicketkeeper on the off side of the wicket. |
| |
(b) |
Any delivery that passes above the shoulder of a batswoman in her normal batting stance shall be called a NO BALL. |
| |
(c) |
Any full pitched delivery which passes above waist heights of a batswoman when in her normal stance shall be called a NO BALL, regardless of whether she attempts a shot.

(d) |
A team shall consist of eleven (11) players, however, a batting twelfth (12th) woman can be named prior to the commencement of the game to enable twelve (12) players to participate in the match. This player may bowl and keep wicket but not bat. The umpire will be informed. Unless a player is injured the interchange of players to enable the nominated twelfth (12th) player to field will take place at the end of the fifth (5th), tenth (10th), fifteenth (15th) and twentieth (20th) over and at the end of the thirteenth (13th) over when drinks are taken. Interchanged players are able to bowl immediately upon their return to the field in conjunction with Rule 5.5b3 (f). |

(e) |
Each bowler may bowl five (5) overs only. All overs are to be six (6) ball overs and a maximum of two (2) extra balls only may be allowed before the over must be finished with the exception of the last over of the innings where six (6) legal deliveries must be bowled. |

(f) |
In all games of twenty five (25) overs or less a maximum of three (3) consecutive overs per spell shall be allowed and the break between spells will be the equivalent number of overs bowled from the same end as the bowlers immediately concluded spell. In the event of the number of overs in an innings being reduced the maximum overs per bowler shall be determined by dividing the number of overs to be received by five (5). (Fractions to be ignored). |

A batswoman shall retire at 50, or the scoring shot that takes her past 50. The retired batswoman shall be able to return after all other batswomen have been dismissed or compulsorily retired. A retirement shall not count as a dismissal for calculation of quotients. |

5.5b.4

(a) |
Cricket balls are to be supplied by the State Association and are to be a two-piece leather ball of recognised sponsorship brand weighing 142 gms. |

(b) Grounds are to be arranged by the convening Area Sports Organiser. All matches are to be played on either synthetic covered concrete or turf wickets. Boundaries are to be 45 metres from the pitch. Where covers are available, they should be used. |

(c) |
The host Area / Association, where possible, is to supply some form of portable score board, showing runs scored, plus the number of overs completed. |

(d) |
The convening centre shall make every endeavour to arrange for the attendance of a qualified ambulance officer at all venues. |
| |
(e) |
No team official, umpire or spectator shall coach a tem whether by voice, signal or any other method while a match is in progress. |
| |
(f) |
Team managers may accompany drinks on to the field and speak to their players. |
| |
(g) |
When the team batting second passes the opposition score, that team's will be recorded for the purpose of deciding quotients. The game shall continue for the allotted overs unless both managers agree to end the game |

HOURS OF PLAY
|

(a) |
Two (2) matches shall be played each day when required. |
| |
(b) |
Each session will consist of fifty (50) overs maximum with a ten (10) minute break between innings. |
| |
(c) |
A lunch break of no less than thirty (30) minutes and no more than forty five (45) minutes shall be taken between the morning and afternoon sessions. |

DIVIDED OVERS
Matches shall be no more than fifty (50) overs and shall not exceed three and a half hours in duration. The team batting first shall bat for twenty five (25) overs unless dismissed beforehand. The team scoring the greater number of runs will be declared the winner. |

LATE STARTS
|

(a) |
In the event of a match not being able to start on time owing to weather or the state of the ground and it not being possible for each side to receive its full quota of twenty-five (25) overs, the number of overs to be bowled in the first innings of each team will be reduced at the discretion of the Carnival Convener. If a match cannot commence within sixty (60) minutes of the set starting time the number of overs shall be reduced by the formula of a reduction of one (1) over per team for every six (6) minutes of time lost. A match shall not commence unless it is possible for each side to receive at least fifteen (15) overs in its first (1st) innings. Sessions of play for matches starting late will be determined by the host Area / Association. Upon commencement of the match the number of overs shall remain unalterable. |

(b) |
In the event of conditions preventing the team batting second (2nd) from receiving its quota of overs, the match shall be decided by a comparison of the RUN RATES OF BOTH TEAMS. These run rates are calculated by dividing the total runs scored by the total number of overs bowled. For the purpose of the RUN RATE calculations only, each legitimate ball shall count as one sixth (1/6) of an over.
Where a team has been dismissed before receiving its full quota of overs its RUN RATE shall be calculated by dividing the total runs scored by the quota of overs it should have received. All this is provided a minimum of fifteen (15) overs has been completed by each side. The team with the best RUN RATE shall be the winner.

The teams are seeded on the previous years results and divided into two (2) pools. Pool A and Pool B.
Matches between the teams from different pools, except for positional play-offs, do not count for points.

PROTESTS
Must be lodged, in writing, by the Team Manager (who must be a teacher) to the Carnival Manager within fifteen (15) minutes of the conclusion of the match. |

A Judicial Committee of three (3) shall be formed at the Manager's Pre-Carnival Meeting to deal with any protests or with any player reported by an umpire. < |

Batswomen must wear a properly fitting batting helmet. The wicketkeeper must wear such a helmet when standing up to the stumps. |
