NSW PRIMARY SCHOOL SPORTS ASSOCIATION - HANDBOOK

 

SECTION 7.4 - DUTIES OF THE EXECUTIVE

 
(Amended 2001)
  7.4.1 THE PRESIDENT
    (a)  To act as chairperson of:
      (i)   Executive Meetings of the NSWPSSA.
    (ii) Council Meetings of the NSWPSSA.
    (b) To represent the NSWPSSA at:
    (i) School Sport Australia Conferences.
    (ii) Extraordinary meetings as convened by the Director, Department of Education and Training or his/her designate.
    (iii)

Official Functions / Ceremonies:

  • State Carnivals
  • School Sport Australia Exchanges
  • Annual Dinner
  • Sponsorship Dinners as organised by the Department
    (c) To liaise with:
    (i) The Senior Education Officer on the day to day administration of the Association - preparation of Agendas, Minutes and Reports, various items of correspondence and special initiatives.
    (ii) The Treasurer regarding the financial status of the Association, individual sports sponsorship and the preparation of Financial Statements including the Annual Statement.
    (iii) The Executive, Conveners and Principals.
    (d) To act as Host to:
    (i) Selected Sponsors.
(ii) Senior Departmental Officers.
(iii) Visiting State Association's Executive.
    (e) To prepare:
    (i) Reports of meetings and conferences.
(ii) The Annual Report.

7.4.2 THE TREASURER
    (a) To liaise with:
   

(i)

The Administrative Assistant for the preparation of financial statements including the Annual Statement.
(ii) The Senior Education Officer for the incurring of expenditure.
(iii) The President and executive in setting of financial directions.
(iv) The Conveners in regards to the disbursement of funds.
(v) The sponsors.
    (b) To monitor and approve:
    (i) The preparation of sport budgets.
(ii) All transactions of the Association.
(iii) The financial management of the major carnivals.
    (c) To prepare and present:
    (i) The financial statements including the Annual Financial Statement.
(ii) The Treasurer's report at all NSWPSSA council meetings.
(iii) Submissions to sponsors.
    (d) To represent the NSWPSSA at:
    (i) State Carnivals.
(ii) School Sport Australia Exchanges.
(iii) Official Functions.
    (e) To attend:
    (i) Executive Meetings.
(ii) State Meetings.
(iii) Extraordinary Meetings as required by the Association, the President or the Department.
  7.4.3 THE VICE PRESIDENTS
    (a) To attend:
    (i) Executive Meetings.
(ii) NSWPSSA Council Meetings.
(iii) Extraordinary Meetings as required by the Association, the President or the Department.
    (b) To represent the NSWPSSA at:
    (i) State Carnivals.
(ii) School Sport Australia Exchanges.
(iii) Official Functions.
(iv) by 'hosting' sponsors, Senior Executive of the Department.
    (c) To represent the President as required:
   

(i)

by chairing Council and Executive Meetings.
(ii) to deliver Executive report at State Council Meetings.
(iii) attend Public Schools Sports Council Meetings.
(iv) assume other duties as required by the President or Association.
 
OTHER DUTIES
   

The role of the Vice President also includes assisting the Senior Education Officer in the following:
