SECTION 6.9 - FOOTBALL (Soccer) KNOCKOUT COMPETITION - Boys and Girls

6.9.1

Refer to General Knockout Rules.
6.9.2 RULES AND CONDITIONS
  (a) (i) Competition is to be on an open primary age basis, i.e. pupils must be thirteen (13) years or under in the year of the competition.
  (b) RULES
    (i) All teams to consist of a maximum of fourteen (14) players.
    (ii) Each team may make unlimited interchanges during a game.
    (iii) Interchanges shall take place sideline at the interchange zone at any stoppage in play after the referee's permission has been obtained.
    (iv) Corner kicks will be taken eight (8) metres from the penalty area.
  (c)

DRAW
Draw will be made on an Area basis with a separate Sub-Convener for each Area. Enquiries should be made to Area Sub-Convener.

  (d)

DURATION OF PLAY
All boys and girls games shall be twenty five (25) minutes each way with five (5) minutes for half time (injury and interchange time allowed). The referee shall be the sole timekeeper.

  (e) DRAWN GAMES
    (i) In all matches except the final, corners shall be counted by the referee in both normal and extra time (if required).
    (ii) If goals scored are equal at the completion of normal time then 5 minutes extra time each way to be played.
    (iii) If goals scored are equal at the completion of extra time, the team scoring the most corners throughout the match (including extra time) will be determined the winner.
(iv) If goals and corners are equal at the completion of extra time the team scoring the first goal in the match will be determined the winner.
(v) If no goals have been scored in the match the team awarded the first corner in the match will be determined the winner.
(vi) If no goals or corners are awarded during the match, the result will be determined by a single toss of the coin by the match referee.
  (f)

MATCH RULES
The fixtures will be played accordance to FIFA Rules.

  (g)

RESULTS
Results must be forwarded by the winning school to the Convener or his nominee within one (1) day of match being completed.

  (h)

SUSPENSIONS
If a player is sent from the field of play, he/she is given an automatic one (1) match SUSPENSION. This suspension is to be served in the next knockout match in the same competition. The Area Convener must be notified of such an incident by the school of the dismissed .

  (i)

CLASH OF COLOURS
Should a clash of colours occur, the visiting team must supply an alternate strip.

  (j)

USE OF SHINPADS
Shinpads must be worn by all players. Players will not be able to take the field of play at any time during a match without wearing shinpads.

6.9.3

DUTIES OF HOME SCHOOL
Home teams shall provide the following:

    (i)

Regulation size football field - properly marked.

(ii) Size four (4) football.
(iii) Qualified referee and two (2) assistant referees if possible.
(iv) Nets and corner posts if possible.
(v) First aid kit, and if possible a First Aid Officer.
  All players are required to wear correct football gear.
6.9.4

PENNANTS
Fourteen (14) pennants will be awarded to the winning school team and fourteen (14) pennants to the runners-up on the day of the final plus one (1) pennant for the Team Coach and one (1) pennant for the school.
