This page will be regularly updated. 1. Our family seems to be having problems booking accommodation close to the venues ? The Pacific School Games is the largest international school sporting event held in the southern hemisphere. Well over 3,000 students and around 1,000 event and team officials will participate in the PSG. The host organisation have booked various motels / hotels close to the venues for event officials. Parents seeking accommodation should look at hotels / motels around 15 to 35 minutes away from the competition venues. Assistance can be provided through the Visit Canberra website. 3. Do you know of available accommodation options in Canberra? The NSW team management has booked a number of motels for parents to access accommdation. The following accommodation information is provided - Accommodation Assistance for NSW Families. 4. Do parents have to buy tickets for the Opeining Ceremony and PSG Competition Days? Competitors will gain free entry to PSG Ceremonies and Competition venues via their accreditation passes. Parents and other spectators will need to purchase tickets to gain entry to PSG Ceremonies and Competition venues. Follow this link to - Ticketing Information. Read this information carefully especially the ticket catagory and ticket price sections. 5. Do I have to register to compete at the Pacific School Games via the organising website? No - all NSW registrations will be handled by the NSW Team Executive Officer. 6. When do I pay the NSW team / uniform levy? Tax Invoices will be distributed in mid September with final payment due by 13 October. (Diving/Swimming/Basketball/Hockey). 7. When do I have to return the Guessing Competition Ticket Butts? These must be returned to the School Sport Unit, Locked Bag 1530 (Cnr Beresford Road & Hume Hwy), BANKSTOWN 2200 by 25 November. 8. When can I pick up the NSWPSG Team Uniforms? For the Swimming and Diving teams, uniforms will be available by mid September and can be collected from the School Sport Unit, Cnr Beresford Road & Hume Hwy, BANKSTOWN 2200. Arrangements will be made to distribute non Sydney team member uniforms in late September. Basketball and Hockey teams will receive uniforms at prearranged training seesions. Track & Field athletes will be able to collect uniforms in October. 9. When do competitors consent forms need to be returned? All swimming, diving, basketball and the following hockey teams - primary girls and boys and secondary boys consent forms were due on 25 July 2008. If this has been misplaced please download a copy - Consent Form and return asap. 10. Now that the NSW Track and Field is selected what procedures are required to be completed. All tax invoices have been distributed with payments for the Hockey, Diving, Swimming, Basketball teams due on 16 October and the Track and Field team due on 12 November. All team apparel bags are available for collection at
11. Delivery of Competition Apparel, when will it occur? Swimming and Diving have been posted (8 October) 12. Swimming Tickets - what about families that missed out gaining tickets to some sessions? Considering the swimming ticketing challenge, the NSWPSG team management also tried to secure tickets for all sessions on Monday morning. Currently we have secured a number of tickets for all sessions (except session 3) each day. The swimming managers will be in contact with all swimming families to see who has missed out. Once this is known a system will be set up to ensure all parents have the opportunity to watch their children swim. This system may require the cooperation of swimming families who have gained swimming tickets and involve the rotating of parents within each session. Please bear with us while we work out the logistics and your anticipated cooperation is appreciated. 13. How does the accreditation process work ? All competitors will need to obtain their accreditation pass prior to attending the Opening Ceremony or Competition Venues. Accreditation passes will allow access to Opening Ceremony and 'competition areas including marshalling areas'. Accreditation passes can only be collected in person from the National Hockey Centre (Mouat St, Lyneham). Accreditation Passes office will be open 14. Do private coaches have access to warm up / warm down areas. At this time, the Canberra Organising Committee is providing no accreditation for private coaches and as such will have no access to warm up and warm down areas. 15.
