14 years Wheelchair  - mixed gender
18 years Wheelchair - mixed gender
18 years Girls Students with Intellectual Disabilities
18 years Boys Students with Intellectual Disabilities

Role Statement

The NSW PSG team management,  in charge of the Wheelchair Basketball and students with intellectual disabilities Basketball teams will follow the NSW PSG team policy and in general:

Coaches will manage the on court presentation and participation of the team during games and training sessions. 

Managers will manage the off court presentation, organisation and administration of the teams.

The successful partnership between the coaching and managerial staff will lead to overall enjoyment of the team and the Games.

The following will occur as part of this partnership -

Participate in the selection of the team to participate at the 2008 Pacific School Games.

Organise and supervise student training, warm ups and cool downs.

Actively support and initiate coaching sessions.

Liaise with parents and carers as to individual needs of students.

Implement team policy. Ensure all team members fully understand these policies.

Ensure daily report sheets are completed and returned to ‘Managers in Charge’. Reports should canvass performances, difficulties / recommendations / requests / etc. Keep an accurate daily register of performance of the team.

Be cognisant of all Games schedules and event programs. Ensure team members are aware of amendments.

Ensure students are conversant with the team ‘Code of Behaviour”.

Enforce team discipline and welfare standards.

Familiarise yourself and competitors with ALL Games rules – specifically:

  • games event programs and schedules
  • marshalling requirements
  • competitor numbers
  • warm up allowances
  • protest procedures.

Monitor and advise of local arrangements for:

  • first aid and emergency care
  • lunches (if applicable)
  • personal effects and valuables
  • formal breaks
  • transport to and from venue
  • seating allocation at venue.

Ensure a clean area during each day and at the end of each day.

Perform other related duties as required.
