Riverina School Sport Calendar Dates Term 4
December Thurs 2nd Secondary Girls Cricket Trials (2011 NSWCHS Championship) Fri 3rd Secondary Boys Cricket Trials (2011 NSWCHS Championship) Fri 10th Riverina Blues Sun 12th Riverina Secondary Triathlon Trials for 2011 Riverina Sports to be held in term 4 2010 Schools need to be aware that the following 2011 sports will have their Riverina trials held in 2010. This has been brought about due to the NSWCHS Carnivals for these sports being held in early term 1, 2011. It is most important that schools realise that these trials will only be available to those students who will be attending school in 2011. Sports involved:
2011 Riverina School Sports Calendar A copy of the DRAFT (2) of the Riverina School Sports Association calendar for 2011 has been e-mailed to all schools this week. Feedback from schools that have concerns with regard to any dates should be forwarded to Jason Wilesmith (jason.wilesmith@det.nsw.edu.au), as soon as possible so that any clashes may be addressed. 2011 PSSA Knockout Entries Entries for 2011 NSWPSSA Knockouts will go online in 2011. Please note that the closing date for tennis, softball and cricket competitions will be Friday 26th November 2010. Entries for all other competitions will close on Friday 4th February 2011. The online entry form and instructions for the submission of school entries can be accessed through the NSWPSSA website (www.sports.det.nsw.edu.au) Riverina Awards & Certificates Students who have represented the Riverina for a number of years (2 or more for primary, 3 or more for secondary) or have had multiple Riverina representations in one year (2 or more for primary, 3 or more for secondary) qualify for a Riverina Achievement Award. Applications for these may be found on the Riverina website. If in doubt please contact the sports association. Please don’t leave this to the last minute, most schools present these awards at their school presentation night, as it takes us time to print and organise the delivery of the certificates to schools. 2011 Riverina Regional Swimming Dates A number of schools are starting to make booking for next year swimming carnivals. The following dates have been booked for the Riverina regional carnival; Primary- Friday 4th March Secondary – Monday 7th March Secondary Triathlon Riverina School Sport will host its first ever Secondary Triathlon at Deniliquin on Sunday 12th December. A flyer will be forwarded out to all secondary schools this week relating to race distances, age groups and entries. If there are any teacher(s) interested in being be a convenor for the carnival please contact Jason Wilesmith at Riverina School Sport. Applications for unfilled 2011 Riverina Primary and Secondary Manager & Coaches Positions The following positions are being re advertised;
Any teachers interested in the above positions should apply by completing a nomination form that can be found on the Riverina School Sports Association website. Applications will close on Friday 10th December 2010. Riverina Blues Ceremony The Riverina Blues Ceremony will be held at the Wagga Wagga RSL Club, Wagga Wagga on Friday 10th December at 12:30pm. This is where we recognise the excellence within our students in NSWPSSA and NSWCHS sport. This year’s guest speaker will be Dani Samuels the youngest World Champion discus thrower. .
