NSW PSSA & CHS Websites 

All school sports organisers and sports teachers should be aware of the school sport website www.det.sports.nsw.edu.au , all state body announcements, handbooks, journals and the school sport guidelines may be found here. 

Riverina Regional Swimming Carnivals 

The Riverina Primary carnival is set down for Friday, 4th March – Albury.  All zones are asked to send their entries to the Riverina School Sports Association as soon as they become available, it needs to be remembered that the Riverina carnival requires and enormous amount of data entry and preparation.  

Please note all entries must meet the qualifying time. 

The first three placegetters in all events qualify for the Riverina team to swim at the NSW PSSA carnival at Homebush on the 28^th – 29th March. 

The Riverina Secondary carnival is set down for Monday, 7th March – Leeton.  Entries for this carnival are school based, all required information may be found on the Riverina website.  Entries for events not swum at the Riverina carnival (800m Freestyle, 400m Freestyle, 400m IM and 200IM) need to be submitted prior to the carnival and list where the time was swum. 

The first three placegetters in all 100m and 50m events, first two placegetters in 200m and relay events, third placegetters who reach the NSW CHS qualifying time and those who reach the qualifying time in events not swum at the Riverina carnival (maximum of three) will qualify for the Riverina team to compete at the NSW CHS carnival at Homebush on the 24^th-26^th March. 

Teachers wishing to act as officials at these carnivals need to apply to the sports association. 

Swimmers with disabilities 

Events will again be swum at this year’s Riverina regional carnival for swimmers with disabilities.  These events will be in 50m freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Students who progress to the NSW PSSA and NSW CHS carnivals will need to have their disabilities assessed.  

2011 PSSA Knockout Entries 

Entries for 2011 NSWPSSA Knockouts will go online in 2011 Entries for all other competitions will close on Friday 4^th February 2011. 

The online entry form and instructions for the submission of school entries can be accessed through the NSWPSSA website (www.sports.det.nsw.edu.au) 

Applications for unfilled 2011 Riverina Primary and Secondary Manager & Coaches Positions 

The following positions are being re advertised; 

• Primary Rugby League Under 11’s Manager and Coach
• Primary Girls Hockey Convenor
• Riverina Netball Convenor
• Riverina Eastern Netball Convenor
• Primary Rugby Union Coach
• Secondary Girls Football Convenor
• Central Schools Convenor 

Any teachers interested in the above positions should apply by completing a nomination form that can be found on the Riverina School Sports Association website.  Applications will close on Friday, 18^th   February 2011.
