Officials:
Nominations are invited from interested teachers who wish to act as officials. Relief will be paid to all teachers acting as officials. A nomination form is included in this information within the forms below and may be downloaded. This nomination form should be returned to the Regional Sport Organiser(fax: 02 69373875) asap or by the closing date Friday 4 July.
A large number of officials are required for this carnival so your participation is encouraged. Please encourage your staff to nominate. Please include home details.
Student Nominations:
- All nominations must be forwarded to Regional Sport Organiser (fax:02 69373875) and a copy to Tony Stringer, Temora High School (fax: 02 6977 4197) or tstringer@temorahigh.nsw.edu.au on the nomination form below, by Friday 4 July. NO LATE NOMINATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
- Each zone may send TWO athletes per event.
- Schools that have not competed in a zone carnival may send one athlete per event.
- Should schools have special entry requests these need to be faxed in by 4 July for consideration (fax: 02 6977 4197).
- Students who wish to compete at the NSW CHS Championships in events not run at the Riverina trials will need to submit nominations for these events on the form provided. The entry time/distance of each student will need to be verified by their coach or school sports organiser. These events have been listed on the nomination sheet.

We will be using the Track and Field Manager Program and all entries must be made prior to the carnival.
ALL STUDENTS FINISHING FIRST OR SECOND AT THE RIVERINA CARNIVAL WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR SELECTION IN THE RIVERINA TEAM TO COMPETE AT THE NSW CHS CARNIVAL AT HOMEBUSH ON SEPTEMBER 4, 5 & 6. AREAS ARE ONLY ABLE TO ENTER A THIRD COMPETITOR IF ALL THREE COMPETITORS BETTER THE NSW CHS QUALIFYING STANDARD AT THE RIVERINA TRIALS. THESE QUALIFYING STANDARDS CAN BE FOUND IN THE NO 1 CHS BULLETIN UNDER THE TITLE "ATHLETICS STANDARDS".

9.00 am Managers and Officials meeting 9.15 am First marshall call 9.30 am First track event and first bank of field events

At all times track events have precedence over field events.
If an athlete is involved in a track event at the same time as a field event, they must register at the field event before they compete in the track event, then return to the field event as soon as they have finished competing in their track event.
NB: The bar cannot be lowered at the high jump.
FACILITIES AT ALEXANDRA PARK:
The following conditions and facilities apply to Alexandra Park:
- Tartan track and run ups for long jump, triple jump and high jump: Spikes or shoes are recommended.
7mm spikes for track, long jump and triple jump 9mm spikes for high jump
Javelin will be conducted a Murrayfield located opposite the track Shoes are compulsory for all throwing events
- Starting blocks will be supplied and must be used for all sprint and relay events (100m, 200m, 400m and 4 x 100m relays). Only those blocks supplied may be used.
Students running in these events should rfamiliarise themselves with using starting blocks before they attend the Regional Carnival.
- Athletes are requested to wear suitable clothing for all events, preferably school sports uniforms.
- A canteen is available and contains a selection of hot and cold foods.
- Change rooms and showers are available.
- Seating - grass bank with limited protection from the weather. There is no extra shelter for the athletes.
- Please encourage all competitors to bring with them suitable clothing to keep them warm and still be aware of the need for sun protection.
- As Alexandra Park is an all weather track this carnival will go ahead unless the conditions are such that the carnival would place the competitors at risk. Should these weather conditions occur prior to the carnival all schools will be faxed and notified of any change. Should these conditions develop overnight or on the morning of the carnival all local radio stations throughout the Riverina will be notified and asked to broadcast any changes. Please note the ABC radio stations will not interrupt AM for these announcements.

- The timing of all events will be by use of automatic timing.
