Closing Date for Nominations: Friday 21 November
It is intended to trial players from throughout the Riverina at Maher Oval, Wagga Wagga on 5 December 2008. These players will be selected from nominations received at the Convener's school by Friday 21 November 2008.
It is important to be aware of the above nomination process and closing dates, as past history shows that some players of obviously high ability have been overlooked when the Regional team is selected. Please note that it is the responsibility of the Sports Organiser within each school to ensure that the appropriate players are nominated.
With regard to the degree of ability we are seeking, nominated players would be expected to be mostly outstanding Year 9's, Year 10 and 11 students who regularly play in their local association 1st Grade competition and/or have represented their local association or town.
All players will be expected to make their own arrangements regarding travel to Wagga Wagga, and accommodation. A fee of $3.00 per player will apply to cover ball, net costs and Regional levy. Each player will be required to provide one practice cricket ball for the day.
The 2008 NSW CHS Cricket Championships will be held at Coffs Harbour (23-26 February 2009). Please ensure that players are nominated on the correct form (noted below - to be downloaded). This form should be forwarded to the Riverina Convener as soon as possible before the closing date.
STUDENTS ELIGIBLE TO TRIAL MUST BE IN YEAR 12 OR LOWER IN 2009.
