ORGANISATION: Please note the following arrangements for 2008
There will not be representative teams from each district as in previous years, due to the need to have the trials earlier this year.
- Schools will enter individual players in 2008. If necessary a school may nominate an entire team. If 2 or 3 schools from the same area wish to put a team together, please indicate this on the nomination form.
PLEASE NOTE There will still be district carnival days, when the initial phase of the knockout will be played. The carnival day is to be played by the end of Week 3 Term 2.
- Please download and complete the entry form and fax or email to the convener
- District organisers have indicated a preference to rotate the trials from year to year. As such the trials in 2008 are being hosted by Wagga Wagga.
- Individual schools are responsible for making the necessary arrangements to get players to the trials.
- Teams will be forned once entries are known. If possible schools will be contacted to give an approximate starting time for the day. Schools that are the closest to the hosts should expect to play first.
- If your school is able to bring a referee to help on the day, it would be greatly appreciated. Please let the convener know beforehand.
- Please bring a match ball. All players are to wear shin guards and long socks. No jewellery is to be worn by players during a game.
- Players are to wear the same shirt for each game for identification purposes in selection. Please inform the convener of any changes.
- A canteen should be available on the day for drinks and snacks. Change rooms may also be available.
- Please be on time for each game. Respect the decision of match officials and encourage fair play.
- Occasionally the trials clash with Senior School Assessment Tasks. In this instance a student must still attend the Riverina trials in order to be considered for selection. It is up to the individual student to make alternative arrangement with her school regarding assessment tasks.
- Selection criteria includes personal skill level, team play, tactical awareness and personal attributes. Any input from teachers attending the trials is most welcome.
State Carnival:
Sydney East Region is the host of the 2008 State Carnival. The carnival is set down for Week 6 of Term 2 (June 3-5). The venue is Liverpool.
