NEW SOUTH WALES PRIMARY SCHOOLS SPORTS ASSOCIATION NATIONAL CARNIVAL REPORT – 2009 CARNIVAL: Basketball - Girls VENUE: Newcastle DATES: 9th – 14th August 2009 EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION: Maritime Museum RESULTS
NEW SOUTH WALES PSSA TEAM
GENERAL COMMENTS The New South Wales team played some very exciting games throughout the week. The first game against SA went into overtime with New South Wales eventually winning. The next day against Victoria, the game went into double overtime with Victoria eventually winning. This is probably the most intense primary game of basketball that I have been involved in. it went for 2 ¼ hours and the girls battled courageously against Victoria who ended up joint winners with Queensland. The level of competition was outstanding and the New South Wales girls were excellent ambassadors for our state both on and off the field. They were also supported by their parents to make the exchange very enjoyable.
