The girls played a high standard of football throughout the tournament. At all times the girls played in the spirit of the game and really bonded well as a team. Our defence was led by Angalene Pavlovic who was rock solid at the back. Our midfield worked well as a unit and was the driving force behind many of our victories, and our attack was lead by Jamie Fressard and Tulia Palozzi whose speed and skill caused many defenders problems.

It was apparent that Queensland were the team to beat after the first day. The girls played extremely well against Victoria and South Australia during the pool rounds. Overall both the NSWPSSA and the girls can be very proud of their efforts in finishing second.

GENERAL COMMENTS
The whole exchange was a wonderful experience for all the girls involved. They got to play against the best girls in Australia and as a team they rose to the occasion. At all times their behaviour was exemplary and they were always well mannered and polite to both Anna and I. They were very eager to follow our instructions and were complimentary of each other both on and off the field.

The parents were also a wonderful group of parents whose behaviour was good. At no time did the parents attempt to interfere with team selections and they were very happy with the amount of game time their child was given. Our team struck up a bond with the Northern Territory girls and supported them whenever we could. The girls also built up a strong camaraderie with the NSWPSSA boys’ team. Both teams regularly cheered and clapped each other off the field at they end of their games.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I would like to acknowledge the work and assistance to me as a coach by my manager Anna French. Anna was asked to step into the role at the last minute. Even at such late notice she was always well prepared and  her organisation for the tournament and the work she did at the tournament with the girls was exceptional. I would also like to acknowledge both Terry Greedy and Allan Duroux the boys coach and manager for their collegiality and friendship at the tournament. Finally I would like to acknowledge Pam Marston from South Australian Primary Schools Amateur Sports Association for her efforts in organising the carnival

Thank you to Mary Fabris the South Australian girls coach who transported the NSW officials to and from the venue each day.
