The NSW PSSA 2009 Swimming Championships were held on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th April at Sydney Aquatic Centre. The Championships ran smoothly thanks to the assistance of many groups. NSW Swimming provided officials. Ron Jordan once again provided invaluable assistance during the Championships. Special thanks to Jenny Warren who filled in for Helen Wood both in the pre championship organisation and during the Championships. Her assistance was invaluable. Students from Homebush Boys High School acted as officials and students from Birchgrove Public School acted as runners.

The overall standard of swimming was high with three records broken. A team of 72 students was selected to represent NSW PSSA at the School Sport Australia Championships which will be held in Perth from Sunday 13th – Friday 18th September. A number of Life Members of the NSW PSSA attended the Championships and assisted with presentations.

The official dinner was again held at the Waterview Club, Silverwater. Appreciation gifts were presented to Jenny Warren and Ron Jordan.

|
|
The new system of including entry fees in the carnival levy worked very well. Coaches accreditation again went smoothly and officials and managers assisted in keeping both the pool deck and warm up pool clear. Andrew Doyle again took on the role of Assistant Convener and his assistance was appreciated.

|
|
My thanks go to those teachers who worked as either officials or team managers at the carnival. The great support of the sports unit led by Neil and Peter must also be acknowledged. Finally thanks to the staff of the Sydney Aquatic Centre for their assistance and to Eyeline for their continued sponsorship.
