The NSW Department of Education and Training’s School Swimming Scheme, has developed this training course to provide teachers with the skills and knowledge necessary to plan, organise and participate in the School Swimming Scheme.  As a water safety and learn to swim program the School Swimming Scheme caters for children who are unable to swim 25m confidently. 

The SSS Escort Teacher Workshops assist teachers from participating school who will be taking a group of children when their school attends the SSS. The skills and experiences gained from participation in this course provide teachers with the competencies required to participate in the SCHOOL SWIMMING SCHEME.

Teachers wishing to gain an accreditation in the area of learn to swim should apply for the DET One Day ‘AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety’ course.
