Selection Policy - Teams:
Students must compete at the Regional Trials in order to allow them to be considered for selection in the Regional team to compete at the State Carnival, unless they are:
i) Competing at a higher level school competition
ii) Suffering injury or illness. In this case, a Doctor's certificate must be presented.
In these cases, a request for consideration for inclusion in a train-on squad for the Regional team must be presented to the Convener. This is to be verified/endorsed by the student's Principal and Zone/District Convener. This will then be considered for inclusion be a panel ie (Executive and Convener).
Secondary Diving Competition:
Rules related specifically to Diving and not contained herein will be specified by FINA handbook.
Attire. Swimming attire as laid down be FINA handbook should be observed and this precludes football shorts, board shorts, T/Shirts or other unsuitable apparel.
Entry: Only divers of sufficient standard to represent at the State carnival and competent to complete the required dives are invited to compete.
BOYS/GIRLS DIVES:
Springboard diving shall be from either the one meter and/or three metre boards.
12/13 years boys and girls
2 dives from 2 groups @ 3.6 plus
2 dives from 2 groups with no limit on degree of difficulty
14/15 years boys and girls
3 dives from 3 groups @ 5.4 plus
3 dives from 3 groups with no limit on degree of difficulty
16/17+ years boys and girls
5 dives from 5 groups @ 9.5 plus
3 dives from 3 groups with no limit on degree of difficulty
Open platform (5m and/or7.5 and/or 10m)
3 dives from 3 groups @ 5.4 plus
3 dives from 3 groups with no limit on degree of difficulty
Champion of Champions
2 dives from 2 groups @ 3.6 plus
2 dives from 2 groups with no limit on degree of difficulty
PROGRAM OF EVENTS:
Day One
12 years boys and girls
13 years boys and girls
14 years boys and girls
15 years boys and girls
Day Two
16 years boys and girls
17+ years boys and girls
Open platform boys and girls
Champion of Champions boys and girls
Champion of Champions:
The winner of each competition division is eligible to contest the Champion of Champions. In the event that a diver wins both a springboard and a platform event they may choose to do springboard and/or platform.
Eligibility - Dive sheets for this event should be submitted to the championship organiser at the conclusion of the respective event.
NSWCHS Diving Championship: The NSWCHSSA Diving Championships will be held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, Homebush on Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 April, 2009.
Nominations should be completed on competitors form provided and faxed to Regional Sports Office before Friday 27 March, 2009.
