Stroke Play Championship:
a) Boys who attend a High School affiliated with the Sydney East SSSA and have an AGU handicap of 27 or less. Higher handicapped players may be balloted out to limit the field to 60 players.
b) Any girls who attend a High School affiliated with Sydney East SSSA.
c) The tournament will be over 18 holes Stoke Play and the champion will be the player with the lowest gross score. In the event of a tie for first, those players tied will play in "sudden death" conditions to decide the winner.
Lunch: Canteen facilities will be available
Clothing: CORRECT GOLF ATTIRE MUST BE WORN. Football shorts, track suits, shirts without collars, sandshoes, short socks etc are NOT acceptable.
Match Play: The top 8 gross scores (boys) and the top 4 (girls) scores will qualify for the match play championship. A seeded draw will be done and distributed along with information for players after the presentation. If a player does not attend the presentation without notice it will be assumed they do not wish to take part in the match play and not be considered for team selection. The Regional Match Play Champion will then represent Sydney East in the State Match Play Championships during the same week as the CHS Stroke Play.
Selection: A Regional Team of four (4) boys and four (4) girls will be selected after the NSWCHSSA Championships 4 to 7 May, 2009 at NSW, The Coast to represent Sydney East at the NSWCHSSA Golf State Carnival 7 - 9 July, 2009 at Tamworth. Selection will be based on performance in:
1) Regional Stroke Play
2) CHS Stroke Play
3) Match Play Championship
Note: YOU MUST PLAY IN TWO OUT OF THE THREE EVENTS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR TEAM SELECTION. ie. Regional stroke + CHS stroke or Regional stroke and Regional match play.
Closing Date for Entries is Friday 22 February, 2009. No late or telephone entries will be accepted. The draw will be sent to schools by Wednesday 27 February, 2009.
Note: The entries for the CHS Stroke Play in May 2009 will be published through the CHS website. See your School Sports Organiser for details.
Selection Policy - Teams:
Students must compete at the Regional Trials in order to allow them to be considered for selection in the Regional team to compete at the State Carnival, unless they are:
i) Competing at a higher level school competition
ii) Suffering injury or illness. In this case, a Doctor's certificate must be presented.
In these cases, a request for consideration for inclusion in a train-on squad for the Regional team must be presented to the Convener. This is to be verified/endorsed by the student's Principal and Zone/District Convener. This will then be considered for inclusion be a panel ie (Executive and Convener).
