Sport: Secondary Swimming
Time: Gates Open 7.15am to 3.30pm.
Date: Tuesday, 24 March 2009
Venue: Sydney Aquatic Centre

Entry: Zone entry only
Cost: $5.00 - all competitors and spectators
Additional Information:

Entry: All competitors must be members of Zone Teams.

Zones are permitted to enter: A maximum of two (2) competitors and two (2) relay teams per Zone for each event. The two relay teams may be from the same school. 

Program: 
(a) Events will be swum in 2 heats. If there are an insufficient number of entrants then the event will be swum in one heat. 

(b) A competitor may enter any number of individual events plus:
The 200m Individual Medley
One Freestyle Age Relay
One Medley Relay
One Freestyle All Age Relay

(c) The SECONDARY SWIMMING PROGRAM is presented here for you to download and print.

(d) Relays - All to be school teams only. Please note new rule - "Students may swim in one relay event only - at their own age or at a higher age group".

(e) Swimmers who wish to be considered for entry in the 400m Freestyle, 800m Freestyle and 400m Individual Medley events at CHS must submit times to the Regional Convener in writing by the end of the carnival on Tuesday 24 March 2009. Please note that the 400IM events will be swum in the following age groups - 12-14Yrs, 15-16Yrs and 17+Yrs.

(f) Zone Competitor Entry Sheets will be forwarded to all Zone Conveners by Tuesday 17 February 2009.

(g) The Convener reserves the right to alter the program.

Officials: Applications are called for officials. The SECONDARY SWIMMING OFFICIALS Teacher Application Form must be completed and returned by Friday 27 February 2009.

Coaching: Once competitors are in the hands of the marshal  coaching is not permitted.  The penalty will be disqualification.

Protests: Will only be received in writing from team management.

Apparel: Sydney North SSSA Apparel will be on sale.

Disabled Events: The NSWCHSSA encourages students with intellectual, physical and sensory disabilities to participate in the swimming program. Contact should be made with the regional sports office to ascertain procedures for inclusion in such events prior to Friday 6 March 2009.

 

Knockout: The final 10 of the Sydney North SSA Swimming Knockout will be swum on Tuesday 24 March 2009. Please refer to the program for further details. The winning school will represent Sydney North SSA at the CHS Finals at CHSSA Swimming.

 

State Carnival: A Sydney North team will be selected  at the conclusion of the carnival to participate at the NSWCHSSA State Swimming Championships on Sunday 5, Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 April 2009.
